Exhibition Statement

The solo exhibition, “Unfolding”, unveils the latest paintings from Simone Guo’s ongoing series, showcasing her continued exploration of nature’s wonders through her distinctive lens and expression. 

Loosely referencing the west coast landscape, Guo’s works capture the essential forms intuitively without losing the complexity and ambiguity of nature. In between of lyrical abstraction and pictorial landscape, she blends a stylized abstractive language with a renewed interest in the aesthetics of Chinese literati landscape painting tradition. Her works offer a sense of evolving perception and invite contemplation of the ever- changing landscape in a dynamic way.
